Hi. I’m Dom and I’m a Schizophrenic and I’ve just about recovered from a “Seven Year Plus” psychotic episode that included, roughly, forty serious attempts at  taking my life, how I failed I still haven’t quite worked out. A lot of the time I’ve been on the run from various different nut houses. A kind of war, or battle maybe, between the mental health services and I. I live in the United Kingdom, Brighton and Hove, and find it quite good here. I came here when I was nineteen . My home town was London, United Kingdom, and I don’t miss it.
With all of the free time a disability awards you with, I’ve enabled myself to build this web site. I’ve also dabbled in word processing and screen saver design. I’ve made several screen savers and written a book called “The Great Bean Fields” that is about some of  my experiences with the mental health system.
I also dabble a bit in art and photography and graphic design. All of my work is displayed as freeware on this site.
Also I have built  a collection of computers. Some of which I have sold. I really enjoy dabbling with computer hardware.
I also play a bit of guitar. I have three MP3s that I created, available to download from  this site. They’re not brilliant but someone may like them. One’s called “One More Silver Coffee for the Machine”  another “DamJamRamAlone, and my most recent “One Day”.
I’m married to, like  myself, another schizophrenic, diagnosed as a “Chronic Schizophrenic”, who most of the time gives me hell, but things pay in the long run. We’ve been married since May 1992 and depend on each other to stay  alive. She is ape shit crazy on  toys.
Jean and I had an epileptic cat who also suffered from severe mental problems too, as he had been cruelly treated before us. We gave him everything he needed; from steak, chicken and turkey; to the occasional bowl of spring water. He even had his own personal cat nip patch, when the other cats hadn’t raided it. Cymbaline, our  old cat’s name, didn’t chaise birds. I think that he thought he was a bird as he used to jump up on the bird bath to drink their water. I don’t know what he did with the mice. I think that he stole them tit bits from the fridge. He was a really great cat, but I wish he’d groomed himself a bit as he wasn’t half a messy cat! I’m afraid he is now surfing cloud 9 after suffering from some kind of heart seizure or something, after a series of epileptic fits. I feel he still deserves a spot on my web site as he made a tremendous impact on four or five years of mine and Jean’s life.
We now own a little doggy named Pikachu who is quite a handful but we love her. She gives us plenty of good exercise, love, and fun. She’s a Westie and I hope we bring her up psychologically sound. We took her on as a seven week old pup for an extortionate sum. I think she’s worth it though. I find her quite a task but I find life better with her than without. I think Jean’s feelings are mutual.
Enough of the emotional stuff. If you find anything useful on this web site, or enjoy reading my book, feel free to get in contact with me as any feedback on my site’s issues would be greatly appreciated. I can be emailed at: dom.s@ntlworld.com.
